The Jewish Division of the Shin Bet must be closed, said Yiska Haimov, sister of Shin Bet Director David Zini and a candidate for the Noam party, during an interview with Natan Mashi on Kol Barama radio on Wednesday.

Crackdown on Radical Activists

Haimov's remarks followed a decision by Shin Bet Director David Zini to significantly reinforce the unit targeting Jewish terror. He ordered the deployment of the elite Shin Bet operational unit to act decisively against the hard core of Jewish terrorism in the West Bank.

Security establishment estimates indicate that about 200 radical activists form the hard core operating from outposts in the West Bank, joined by dozens of teenagers participating in nationalist violence.

Cabinet Clashes

Criticism from the right wing has intensified. During a security cabinet meeting, Minister Orit Strock attacked the leadership, claiming the security establishment targets settlers while ignoring Palestinian attacks. Zini interrupted her, stating: "You are out of touch. Palestinians are not burning Jewish homes here."

"We need to see condemnations and repudiation from all leadership. It harms settlement and harms security," Zini told the minister during the tense exchange.

Zini is reportedly considering requesting Defense Minister Israel Katz to reinstate administrative detentions against the hard core of extreme right-wing activists in the West Bank. MKs Tali Gotliv and Limor Son Har-Melech have demanded his resignation.
