Israel Police Arrests Serial Fraud Suspect Targeting Citizens Nationwide
Israel Police arrested a serial fraud suspect who posed as a reservist in financial distress and stole tens of thousands of shekels from citizens across the country.

Following a complex investigation and a manhunt lasting over a year, Israel Police officers have located and arrested a serial fraud suspect operating across the country, including in the Krayot, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and the south. Investigators pieced together dozens of fraud cases reported over the past three years.
According to the suspicion, the suspect approached citizens, posed as a reservist facing financial distress who had lost his wallet, convinced them to transfer money as a loan, and then vanished. The total scope of the scams is estimated at tens of thousands of shekels.
The central case in the affair exposed his modus operandi: the suspect contacted a woman in a wheelchair and asked for a small loan due to an emergency reserve duty call-up. Cynically exploiting her physical disability, he took her credit card to withdraw cash for her at an ATM, withdrew thousands of shekels without her knowledge, and disappeared.
The suspect was recently located and arrested. During the investigation, conducted in cooperation with multiple police stations, he confessed to the acts attributed to him. His remand was repeatedly extended, and a prosecutor's statement is expected today ahead of a severe indictment and a request for detention until the end of proceedings.
