Senior women of various ages, including octogenarians and nonagenarians, will take to the runway at the upcoming Israel Canada Tel Aviv Fashion Week, highlighting age-defying style and the vibrant realities of longevity. Five residents from the Mishan senior living network will model creations by designer Shahar Avnet, challenging conventional industry standards and proving that fashion transcends age.

Redefining Style at Any Age

Designer Shahar Avnet emphasizes that her colorful, non-standard garments are crafted for a woman's personality rather than her age. While younger clientele frequent her studio in Tel Aviv's Shenkin Street, older women are increasingly embracing her bold aesthetic. She recently sold a unique piece to an 80-something customer and a wedding dress to a 93-year-old buyer. Avnet notes that older women often possess the financial means, leisure time, and appreciation for high-quality, comfortable garments that honor the body.
