Selena Gomez Reveals Vaping Caused Major Changes to Her Voice
Selena Gomez opened up about the real reason behind changes in her voice, revealing her past struggle with nicotine vapes and warning fans about the habit.

Selena Gomez has finally addressed the persistent speculation surrounding the noticeable changes in her voice over recent years. In a candid Instagram story shared late Sunday night, the 34-year-old superstar opened up about her past struggles with vaping and delivered a heartfelt warning to her fans.
Breaking the Silence on Vaping
Appearing makeup-free and speaking directly to her followers, Gomez admitted that her vocal changes were primarily caused by heavy e-cigarette use. "I can't change my voice," she began. "I used a lot of a nicotine vape. It is so hard to quit nicotine, and I think I just wanted to say that if you're going through that, or even if you're thinking about starting to vape, it's just not worth it.
Gomez didn't sugarcoat the difficulty of breaking the habit, emphasizing how much regret she feels over the impact it had on her vocal cords.
"It is so stupid. It changed my voice. So if you don't like listening to my voice, it's totally fine. I don't care. Just don't listen to it."
A Journey of Resilience
The star acknowledged that quitting nicotine was an uphill battle and expressed hope that she would stay strong in her recovery. Despite the frustration, she offered words of encouragement to anyone battling addiction: "If you're going through something, you can get through it too, but it sucks."
This latest confession comes after months of fan speculation and differing explanations. Back in December, Gomez briefly attributed her vocal changes to physical health fluctuations and throat inflammation. Over the years, the multi-talented artist has also been open about her battles with lupus and bipolar disorder, continually inspiring millions with her vulnerability and resilience as she embraces growing older.
