Man Seriously Wounded in Sderot Stabbing Amid Wave of Violent Crime
A man in his 40s was seriously injured in a Sderot stabbing, hours after a 40-year-old woman was murdered in Beersheba by her partner in front of their child.

A man in his 40s was seriously injured late Sunday in a stabbing incident on Rambam Street in Sderot. Medical teams evacuated him to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon suffering from penetrating wounds, while police opened an investigation into a suspected criminal background.
The report regarding the injured man was received close to midnight. Paramedics Amir Amsalag, Naor Sabag, and Issachar Weiss reported that passersby led them to the victim. "We provided him with medical treatment that included stopping bleeding and administering medication, and evacuated him to the hospital in a semi-conscious state," they described.
Police officers from the Sderot station arrived at the scene and began gathering evidence to clarify the circumstances of the incident. Police assess that the background of the act is a criminal dispute.
The incident in Sderot joins another severe violent event that occurred earlier on Sunday in the region. A 40-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her apartment on Bnei Or Street in Beersheba. Her partner called the police dispatch center at night, told officers "I murdered my wife," and waited in the apartment until he was arrested.
The murder in Beersheba took place in front of the couple's 5-year-old son, who was present in the home at the time. Medical teams that arrived at the apartment found the woman unconscious with numerous penetrating wounds. She was evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in critical condition, where doctors pronounced her dead. The family has no known history of police complaints, and investigators continue to collect testimonies to understand the motive for the act.
