Medical Negligence Lawsuit Filed Over Treatment of Minor Injured in Crash
A lawsuit alleging medical negligence was filed in Be'er Sheva against Schneider Children's Medical Center and Clalit over the treatment of a minor injured in a 2021 car crash.
A lawsuit for personal injury compensation has been filed at the Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court against the Schneider Children's Medical Center and Clalit Health Services, alleging medical negligence in the treatment of a minor injured in a traffic accident. The minor was hurt in a car crash in November 2021 and rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, where he underwent a series of examinations, treatments, and hospitalization, followed by prolonged medical follow-up across various fields.
Following the accident, the minor went through an extensive medical path including imaging tests, neurological follow-ups, and hearing and vision examinations. It later transpired that he suffers from significant damages affecting his functioning and life. According to the lawsuit, the medical teams failed to act as required given the minor's condition, and their conduct caused or contributed to the afflictions he suffers from.
The plaintiffs argue that timely and appropriate medical investigation and intervention could have prevented or reduced part of the damage. They also claim functional and cognitive consequences and difficulties in various areas. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for damages including pain and suffering, past and future loss of earnings, medical expenses, third-party assistance, and other costs. The court has yet to rule on these allegations.
