A senior Saudi source close to the royal court told N12 that Riyadh bears the direct cost on the ground while Washington delays decisive action. The kingdom finds itself increasingly encircled by Iranian-backed fronts, including Hezbollah in the north, Iraqi militias, the Houthis in the south, and foreign interventions in Sudan.
"This is a war for regional control. The holy sites do not interest them, and recent alerts in Mecca prove that this is not about religion, but about dominance," the source stated.
Strained Alliances and Future Outlook
Another Saudi official expressed deep concern and anger over the current state of regional alliances and the reluctance of the United States to provide robust backing. Riyadh has seen little tangible support from partners like Pakistan or Turkey, whom officials accuse of merely seeking arms sales.
