Sapir Harush from 'The Amazing Race' on cancelling her wedding: 'It's the best thing I ever did. God gave me a sign'

Two years ago, 'The Amazing Race' star Sapir Harush cancelled her wedding, ten months after her engagement. The decision followed physical and mental struggles within the relationship, which ultimately led to the breakup. In the program 'Kim'at Shabbat Shalom' (tomorrow, 10:05, Keshet 12), she revisited those difficult moments and shared whether, in hindsight, she is at peace with her choice.

Harush explained that her physical condition stemmed directly from the difficulties she faced in her relationship:

'I went through a difficult period; my body could not handle the pressures I experienced with my partner at home. Deep down, I understood that this relationship was not going to end well. I cancelled a wedding at age 30, I had concerns about whether I would find a relationship afterwards, there was a fear of disappointing the family — until the body started to signal.'

It began with anxiety attacks she had never experienced before, facial distortions, locked legs, and hands that stopped functioning. When she ignored these signs and continued with wedding preparations, it manifested as urticaria all over her body. Her ex-partner accompanied her to the hospital, and on the first day of her hospitalization, they decided to call off the wedding.

'The body understood before I did that it had to be cancelled,' she noted. When asked if she is at peace with the decision, Harush did not hesitate:

'It is the best thing I did. Even what I went through physically is the best thing that happened to me, because I understood that God was signalling me to stop. If you end up in the hospital, it means someone is sending you a sign.'
