The question of celebrity privacy boundaries arose again this week after a family from the Netherlands arrived at Rafael Nadal's home in Mallorca and rang the doorbell. To the family's surprise, the person who opened the door was none other than the Spanish tennis star himself, who agreed to take a picture with them.

The father of the family, Peter Stokie, published two photos from the meeting on social media: in one, a woman and a little girl are seen next to Nadal, and in the second, he is photographed with the former tennis player. The photos received significant exposure, garnering nearly 3 million views, but simultaneously sparked criticism over the family arriving at Nadal's private home uninvited.

Stokie described how he came up with the idea to visit Nadal's home:

"After a visit to the Rafa Nadal Academy, I had the idea to go look for his beautiful house. As soon as I found it, I thought to myself: I'm going to ring the doorbell. And it turns out he opened the door himself."

The post sparked many reactions online. In a thread on X, more than 700 comments accumulated, with some users criticizing the family and claiming it was an infringement on Nadal's privacy. One commenter wrote to Stokie: "Personally, I think this crosses the line of what is respectful. You don't ring someone's private home like that unless you were invited."

Stokie, for his part, did not apologize. In response to the critics, he wrote: "Nice, all these comments (from the jealous ones). I'm laughing out loud here in beautiful Mallorca." In another reply, Stokie claimed that Nadal actually enjoyed the meeting: "For your information, he found this spontaneous action very amusing. Otherwise, he would have left the door closed. Have a good day!"
