Salmonella Detected in Moroccan Carrot Salad, Urgent Recall Issued
Salmonella was detected in Moroccan carrot salad by Class Food, prompting an urgent recall. Consumers are advised not to consume the 250-gram packs.
Consumers have been warned after salmonella bacteria was detected in Moroccan carrot salad sold under the Class Food brand. The product is manufactured by Falafel Ba-Ribua Food Industries Ltd. and marketed by A. Class Food Ltd.
The contamination was discovered during routine testing by the Central District Health Bureau's food service. The recall affects 250-gram packages with a manufacturing date of September 7, 2026, an expiration date of October 12, 2026, and barcode 7290100890639.
In coordination with the Ministry of Health's food service, Class Food is working to pull the product from store shelves. The company apologized for the incident and stated it remains committed to ensuring product quality and safety for its customers.
Salmonella infection can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps, even in healthy individuals. In vulnerable populations, such as young children, the elderly, and the immunocompromised, the bacteria can cause severe illness and, in rare cases, be life-threatening.
