France Arrests Ryanair Passenger for Sexual Assault of Unconscious Woman on Flight

A 39-year-old man has been arrested in France for allegedly sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman during a Ryanair flight from Malta to Nantes, European media reported.

The incident occurred on July 19 during the flight, which lasted just under three hours. According to the investigation, the young passenger suffered a medical emergency and lost consciousness. The suspect, who was sitting next to her, allegedly took advantage of her condition to sexually assault her.

The suspect was arrested by French border police on August 31 at Nantes Atlantique Airport after arriving on a different flight. Although he denies the allegations, DNA evidence has linked him to the crime.

On September 2, the suspect was remanded in custody pending trial, which is scheduled to begin on October 28.
