Russia launched a massive overnight assault on Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions utilizing 269 drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles. The coordinated attacks resulted in at least four deaths and numerous injuries, damaging residential buildings, a medical facility, and critical infrastructure across multiple locations.

In the capital, Kyiv, one person was killed and eight others were injured as strikes hit three districts, causing a fire in a 25-story residential building and damaging a subway station. In the nearby city of Irpin, a woman was killed in a direct hit on a residential home, while regional police reported ten injuries, including five children.

The Ukrainian Air Force stated that air defense systems intercepted 243 drones and four missiles, though impacts were registered at 25 sites. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry described the bombardment as a massive strike targeting data centers, logistical hubs, and military-industrial facilities.

The escalation follows US President Donald Trump waiving new congressional sanctions against Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned in an NBC interview that Ukraine cannot win if the US sides with Russia, as Russian President Vladimir Putin orders continued coordinated strikes.
