Likud Primary Results Approved: Shifts in the Party List

The Likud election committee approved the party's primary results today, Thursday. Despite the official approval, drama remains regarding the positions of several Knesset members. Following the final vote count, MK Eti Atiya surpassed MK Avichai Boaron by 51 votes, pushing him one spot back. At the same time, following a discussion on MK David Bitan's appeal, he may still overtake MK Boaz Bismuth and be placed ahead of him.

The vote count in the Likud primaries continues to produce changes in the tight positions on the list. According to the results, Atiya received 21,663 votes compared to 21,612 for Boaron—a gap of only 51 votes. As a result, Atiya is now ahead of Boaron.

An even tighter battle is taking place between Boaz Bismuth and David Bitan. In the current results, Bismuth received 24,283 votes, while Bitan received 24,256—a gap of only 27 votes. However, the picture may still change. Following a discussion on the appeal filed by Bitan, there is a possibility that he will receive additional votes, allowing him to overtake Bismuth. This means that even after the committee's approval, the battle between the two has not been finally decided due to the ongoing appeal process.

The struggle between Bitan and Bismuth developed after it was revealed that dozens of Likud members voted using "double envelopes" due to technical issues regarding their eligibility. Following a dispute over these votes, their counting was initially frozen, and Bitan has acted to ensure their inclusion in the final tally.

The gap between the two is particularly small, and therefore even a limited number of votes could reverse their positions. The official results document includes a clarification that the standings are subject to change pending the outcome of filed appeals.
