Police Arrest Three Suspects in Rosh Pinna Japanika Grenade Attack
Israel Police arrested three suspects in connection with a July grenade attack on a Japanika restaurant in Rosh Pinna, linked to an ongoing conflict between the Musli and Jarushi crime families.
The Israel Police arrested three suspects on Monday in connection with a fragmentation grenade attack targeting a branch of the Japanika restaurant chain in Rosh Pinna last July. Two of the suspects are residents of northern Israel, while the third resides in the central region.
Following their arrest, the three individuals were transferred for interrogation to the Crime Fighting Unit of the Kinneret Sub-District. The police will request the Kiryat Shmona Magistrate's Court to extend their detention.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of July 15, when police received a report of a fragmentation grenade thrown at the Rosh Pinna branch. Northern District police officers arrived at the scene, gathered evidence, and initiated an investigation that eventually led to the arrest of the three suspects.
Wave of Attacks Against Japanika Branches
The grenade attack in Rosh Pinna is part of a broader series of violent incidents targeting Japanika branches across Israel. During the same period, gunfire was directed at a branch in Giv'atayim, a grenade was thrown at a branch in Kiryat Ono, a pipe bomb exploded near a branch in Ramat Gan, and grenades were thrown at other locations.
All of these incidents are being investigated as part of an ongoing conflict between the Musli and Jarushi organized crime families. The Japanika chain is owned by businessman Barak Abramov, who also owns the Beitar Jerusalem football club. According to police sources, Abramov was previously considered close to the Musli brothers but has in recent years become associated with the rival Jarushi family.
