A year after sharing a painful experience abroad where a photo shoot was halted due to her measurements, Israeli model Romi Frenkel has unveiled a brand-new look, having lost 16 kilograms. Frenkel, 23, whose ultimate dream is to model for Victoria's Secret—even incorporating the brand's iconic wings into her social media handles—took to TikTok to post a video showcasing her transformation. Posing in black underwear and a matching bra, she appeared focused and determined during what seemed to be another professional shoot. Along with the video, she wrote: Making the most of the day.
In an interview last year, Frenkel opened up about how body image and weight hadn't really been a focus for her until she started working internationally. She described overseas markets as rigidly conventional, noting the archaic process of being measured with a tape measure upon arrival at foreign agencies. She recalled a devastating incident two years ago when a dream campaign shoot was canceled midway because she allegedly didn't fit their physical expectations. Although production initially blamed poor lighting, her agent later revealed the truth: they were dissatisfied with her size.
Reflecting on that difficult period, Frenkel admitted feeling deeply ashamed after returning to Israel prematurely, having previously built up high expectations among her friends and peers about the major overseas campaign.
