Roman Sorkin has officially signed a massive contract extension with Maccabi Tel Aviv, keeping the star center with the club through the summer of 2030.
Roman Sorkin officially signed a contract extension with Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday, keeping him with the yellow-and-blue squad at least until the summer of 2030.
Back in late August, reports indicated that the Israel national team center had been offered a three-year deal worth $1.2 million, up from his current $900,000 salary. Sorkin and his representatives turned down the proposal, with sources close to the player indicating that only an offer of $1.5 million or more would suffice. The sides ultimately reached that milestone: the star will earn a total of $6.5 million over four years.
Sorkin, 30, joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in the summer of 2021 and has since won three championship titles and four state cups with the club. He was named the league MVP for the 2023/24 season and took home the Israeli Player of the Season award both then and this past season.
