A passenger aircraft was struck by Houthi fire at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Reuters reported on Thursday alongside footage circulated on social media.

According to the report, the empty aircraft was parked on the tarmac near one of the airport's terminals when it was hit, likely by a ballistic missile launched from Yemen. Saudi authorities stated that they intercepted two ballistic missiles fired toward the country earlier today, marking a significant security breach at Saudi Arabia's busiest airport.

The Saudi government announced on Wednesday that Houthi strikes targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport in the south. Yahya Sarea, a Houthi military spokesman, claimed responsibility for the attacks using missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles against both facilities.

The Saudi-led military coalition responded by launching airstrikes on dozens of Houthi military targets in Yemen, including missile storage sites and command centers. The Houthis have not yet issued an official response to the coalition strikes.
