Return to Morocco: Arkia Airline Resumes Direct Flights from Israel
The Israeli airline, Arkia, has resumed flights from Israel to Morocco after three years, and the first flight landed in Marrakech yesterday. This route is expected to operate twice a week with prices starting from about $500.
Great news for travelers: the Israeli airline, Arkia, resumed flights from Israel to Morocco this Wednesday after a three-year hiatus, with the first flight already landing in Marrakech.
Arriving to inaugurate and celebrate the maiden flight were Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Transport Miri Regev, Director General of the Ministry of Transport Moshe Ben Zaken, Director of the Israel Airports Authority, Major General (res.) Iftach Ron-Tal, and CEO of Arkia Oz Berlovich.
Arkia expressed its gratitude to Minister of Transport Miri Regev, Director General of the Ministry of Transport Moshe Ben Zaken, and Director of the Civil Aviation Authority Shmuel Zakay for the efforts and cooperation that enabled the renewal of the route.
A price check reveals that flight fares on this route start at $498 and can reach approximately $600 during peak periods.
As recalled, the route opened earlier than expected, as the company had previously announced a restart date of August 24. Flights will depart from Ben Gurion Airport twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft, allowing the Israeli public to return to one of the most sought-after destinations in North Africa.
The renewal of the route was made possible after a prolonged period of joint efforts with aviation and security authorities. The price for a one-way ticket starts from $329.
