Urgent recall for popular electrical product in Israel: "Risk of electrocution and fire"
The Ministry of Economy and Industry warns the public this morning against using a common product found to be unsafe, and calls for an immediate halt to its use due to severe failures.
The Commissioner for Standardization at the Ministry of Economy and Industry issued an urgent recall notice this morning (Sunday) regarding the following product: TECHLINE wall charger, barcode: 6983536521987, model: 2A-DU-F19F, manufacturer: TECHLINE, China.
The product packaging is marked with the importer's details: Asher Technological Solutions (Techline) Ltd., 12 Yatziv St., Atarot Industrial Zone, phone: 02-5815558. The identified risks are electrocution and fire.
In an inspection conducted by Hermon Laboratories Ltd., it was found that the product does not meet the requirements of the official Israeli standard SI 62368 Part 1 (Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment: Safety requirements, November 2018). The findings include:

The charger casing and internal components are not resistant to heat and fire as required.

During operation, the plastic may soften or melt, causing a short circuit, ignition, and a risk of electrocution.

The plug pins are thicker than permitted by the standard, which may damage the socket or insulation, leaving parts exposed.

The internal transformer is not insulated as required.
Required action: Anyone holding this product is requested to stop using it immediately. Sale in stores is strictly prohibited.
"It is forbidden to manufacture, sell, and import a product that does not meet the standardization requirements in accordance with Section 9(a)(1) of the Standards Law of 1953," the Commissioner for Standardization emphasized.
