The Ministry of Economy and Industry published a recall notice today, Monday, for a 2100W spiral heater manufactured by BENATON, following test results that raised concerns about safety defects that could endanger users.

The product in question is heater model BT-55900 (barcode 8472840959909), imported and marketed by D.S.S. Electronics Ltd. and manufactured in China. According to the notice, the product was marketed between November 2023 and November 2025.

According to the ministry's announcement, a test conducted on behalf of the Commissioner for Standardization via the Hermon Laboratory found that in some cases, the heaters do not meet the requirements of the official Israeli standard, specifically regarding protection against live parts and electric shock.

"It is not possible to rule out the feasibility of access to internal parts in some of the heaters marketed," the ministry stated.

Because of this, and to ensure user safety, it is recommended to return the products to the importer for structural repair or replacement. There is a risk to user safety due to potential contact with the heating element or live parts, which could cause electric shock and burns during normal use or in the event of a product malfunction.

The public holding a heater of the aforementioned model is requested to stop using it immediately and to contact the importer's warehouses for repair or replacement. For further details, you can contact D.S.S. Electronics Ltd.:
