Ran Danker Opens Up About Anxiety: Another Kind of Coming Out
Israeli singer Ran Danker opened up on Keshet 12 about his past struggles with severe anxiety, describing panic attacks that made him feel like he was dying at age 22.
Singer Ran Danker opened up about his personal struggles with anxiety during an appearance on Keshet 12, describing how minor physical worries would escalate into severe panic.
"When I drive home from a shoot and realize I cannot clearly see the license plate ahead of me, I tell myself I need an eye exam," Danker recalled. "From there, it spirals; my body starts going numb, and I wake up at night convinced I cannot make it to work the next day. I did not know how to communicate what was happening, and I convinced myself I was dying, despite everyone telling me I was only 22 and healthy."
Following the broadcast, Danker took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the overwhelming support and messages of solidarity he received from viewers.
"I barely know where to begin," Danker shared in a video message. "Most people who wrote to me shared their own experiences, meaning we are sharing this together. For me, this feels like another kind of coming out—another confession in life. Admitting publicly that I deal with anxiety and its side effects lifts a tremendous weight off my shoulders."
