Israeli businessman Rami Levy revealed that his retail chain loses approximately one million dollars annually due to stolen shopping carts. Speaking on a podcast, Levy noted that while cart thefts present a notable financial drain, the introduction of smart carts across the chain's branches has allowed the business to cut between 700 and 800 jobs.

Beyond labor adjustments and equipment loss, Levy criticized Israel's manual price-tagging system, arguing it fails to eliminate discrepancies between shelf prices and checkout scanners. He stated that he previously urged economic ministers to adopt electronic shelf labels linked directly to cash registers, a method widely used abroad to prevent pricing errors.

Reflecting on his business career, Levy pointed to two defining milestones that propelled his retail chain into the national spotlight: the famous one-shekel chicken promotion, which generated massive public awareness, and taking the company public on the stock exchange. He also mentioned that the company handles all marketing in-house rather than hiring external agencies.
