Israeli businessman Rami Levy is expanding his low-cost strategy into the aviation sector as his airline, Israir, launches a promotional campaign with one-way tickets starting at $99 ahead of the winter season and European Christmas markets.

New Destinations and Winter Fares

Under the new campaign, Israir is expanding its route network to include popular European destinations as well as new lines such as Madrid. Passengers can book flights directly through the company's website or via travel agencies for departures scheduled from today through the end of March on selected dates.

  • Budapest, Batumi, Rome, and Varna: Starting from $99 one-way.

  • Berlin, Munich, Baku, and Madrid: Starting from $129 one-way.

Broad Business Empire

This aviation initiative builds upon the economic strength of the Rami Levy Shivuk HaShikma group, traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Beyond the leading supermarket chain, Levy oversees telecommunications, the Good Pharm drugstore chain, Cofix cafes, and real estate holdings.

"I am worth a lot of money, let's put it that way. How much? Around 6 billion shekels," Levy recently noted in an interview.

Levy acquired controlling stakes in Israir in early 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, injecting private capital and successfully guiding the airline to a public offering on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
