A severe outbreak of sustained gunfire rocked the southern Israeli city of Rahat early this morning, terrorizing residents and forcing children to stay home from school. According to Channel 12 southern correspondent Almog Boker, relentless shooting erupted at 3:30 AM and continued unabated for three hours.

Writing on the X platform, Boker described the harrowing scenes inside the city, noting that terrified children were left weeping and refusing to go to school while desperate parents tried in vain to reassure them.

Police and local authorities have not yet released official details regarding the specific motives behind this latest violent episode, and the exact circumstances remain under investigation.

This incident follows a series of violent clashes and prolonged gunfire in Rahat driven by ongoing local family feuds. In late September, similar gang-related shooting incidents prompted police raids that resulted in the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of weapons, including M-16 rifles and handguns.
