When Netanyahu was on the line: Clips from the film about Lindsey Graham revealed

A rare video clip from the new documentary film "The Lindsey Game," which followed Republican Senator Lindsey Graham for the past three years, provides a fascinating glimpse into the moments when fateful moves were determined in closed-door conversations between Jerusalem and Washington.

In one of the central segments in the film, documented on March 4 in Graham's office in the Senate, the senator is seen preparing to fly to Florida to meet with US President Donald Trump. A moment before his departure, he spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and told him that he intended to try to convince the president to join the campaign in Lebanon.

"I am going to try to get Trump to join with y'all in Lebanon… Would you like that?" Graham asked.

"We are concentrating right now on Iran," Netanyahu replied.

However, Netanyahu asked to block the move and clarified to Graham that Israel was interested at that stage in focusing on the campaign against Iran, and that opening a broad front against Hezbollah could actually serve the other side and lead to an escalation that neither side is interested in.

"I was thinking about the other side," said Netanyahu. "We are focusing on Iran. If we tell Hezbollah that we are going all the way, then they will have no choice but to go all the way with us. Right now, we are not interested in that."

In another clip released from the film, Graham is seen celebrating what he presents as a personal achievement in promoting the war, and compares Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu to two leaders of World War II: "Trump and Bibi are Roosevelt and Churchill."

The film also features footage where the late senator shares his emotions regarding policy toward Iran: "I almost cried. I mean, how long have we been pushing this? Trump said: 'Best thing…'"
