ATVs, a motorcycle and dozens of cartons: the loot uncovered in a raid in Tarabin

The police raided the village of Tarabin in the south again yesterday, Tuesday, as part of an operation by detectives from the Negev Central Unit and fighters from the Southern National Guard of the Border Police. During the search, vehicles suspected of being stolen, dozens of cartons of cigarettes, more than 25,000 shekels in cash, and walkie-talkies were seized. Two suspects were arrested and taken for questioning.

The forces arrived at the compound and the house in the village equipped with a search warrant. During the operation, the police located two ATVs and a motorcycle suspected of being stolen, as well as a trailer that is also suspected of having been stolen.

Alongside the vehicles, a box containing 59 cartons of cigarettes was found. In addition, the forces seized a sum of 25,770 shekels in cash and two walkie-talkies. At the end of the search, the police arrested two suspects, aged 21 and 54, residents of Tarabin. The two were transferred for further investigation to the Central Unit of the Negev District.

The operation joins a series of police operations that have been conducted in recent months in Tarabin. Last month, hundreds of police officers raided targets in Tarabin and Rahat, and during the operation, weapons and ammunition were seized, alongside dozens of vehicles worth millions of shekels.

In another incident in July, detectives from the Negev Central Unit and National Guard fighters entered Tarabin to arrest a local resident, on whom a pistol was found according to the police. During the forces' exit from the village, stones were thrown at them, and the police used riot dispersal means and fired into the air.
