Qatari Official Dismisses Israeli Political Rhetoric
Majed al-Ansari, adviser to the Qatari prime minister and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly criticized recent statements in Israel against his country, describing them as childish political moves. In an interview with the Saudi channel Al Arabiya, he made it clear that Doha is not intimidated by threats to classify it as a state sponsor of terrorism, emphasizing that guarantees have been provided to prevent a recurrence following the Israeli strike in the Qatari capital.
Al-Ansari was asked about what the interviewer termed ongoing Israeli provocations against Qatar and the desire to classify it as a state sponsor of terrorism. He replied that Qatar does not fall for the provocations of childish political maneuvers, noting that such statements from Israeli ministers and others have been observed throughout the war.
Guarantees and US Mediation
Addressing the Israeli strike in Doha targeting the Hamas leadership, al-Ansari claimed his country successfully secured commitments to prevent future attacks. When asked if the message was conveyed to Israel through the USA and President Donald Trump, he pointed to developments at the White House, referencing the apology call made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the Qatari prime minister, mediated by the American president.
When Israel raised its hand against the State of Qatar, we knew how to deal with it in a manner that would ensure there would be no more Israeli attacks.
Al-Ansari added that Doha is entirely unfazed by Israeli politicians using the Qatar issue for election campaigns, dismissing such political rhetoric with utter contempt. The tension between Israel and Qatar escalated following the Doha strike, which aimed to eliminate senior Hamas officials. Despite the diplomatic crisis, the intervention of President Donald Trump and the subsequent apology allowed Qatar to maintain its central role in regional mediation efforts between Israel and Hamas.
