Qatar Signs UN Agreement to Deliver Fuel Grant to the Gaza Strip
Qatar has signed an agreement with the UN to deliver 1.3 million liters of fuel to the Gaza Strip as a humanitarian grant to support hospitals and vital services.
Qatar has signed an agreement with the United Nations to deliver approximately 1.3 million liters of fuel to the Gaza Strip, the Qatari Foreign Ministry announced. According to the statement, the fuel will be provided as a grant from Doha to support humanitarian needs and the healthcare system in the coastal enclave.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that the grant aims to ensure the continuation of vital services and humanitarian operations, assisting organizations operating on the ground. Part of the fuel will be allocated to power hospitals and medical centers, as well as other essential systems and services dependent on a steady energy supply.
Doha noted that the move is a continuation of Qatar's ongoing aid program for the Strip. The announcement added that Qatar has supplied Gaza with approximately 30 million liters of fuel since October 7, 2023, through the end of March 2026. However, the statement did not specify a timeline for the fuel delivery, which border crossings will be used, or which UN agency will oversee its distribution.
