Palestinian Killed in Clashes With IDF Near Qalqilya Amid Outpost Evacuations

Omer Tubasi, a 20-year-old Palestinian, was killed overnight Monday after being shot in the head by IDF forces in the village of Hajja near Qalqilya. According to the Red Crescent, two other Palestinians were wounded by live fire: one was shot in the chest and is in serious condition, and a 17-year-old youth was wounded in the thigh.

The incident began when settlers from a nearby farm entered Hajja after Palestinians threw stones at a drone and brought it down. When they entered the village, reportedly to retrieve the drone, clashes erupted between them and the residents. An IDF force dispatched to the scene responded with gunfire toward the Palestinians, who, according to the military, were throwing stones. The IDF stated that the fire was directed at those identified as "central instigators" of the riot.

Political Pressure and Outpost Evacuations

Meanwhile, under pressure from the United States, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the evacuation of illegal outposts in Area B. He made it clear to ministers that they must not speak out against IDF commanders on this issue and must back them fully.
