The Magistrate's Court extended today, Tuesday, by six days — until August 2 at 14:00 — the detention of Maxim Bruverman, a friend of the missing person Eldar Dayan, who was with him in the vehicle before his disappearance. During the hearing, it emerged that Bruverman has a criminal record, including, among other things, a conviction for possession of brass knuckles.

Bruverman is suspected of conspiracy to commit a crime, obstruction of justice, and offenses related to a hit-and-run incident. The police requested to extend his detention by ten days, but the court partially granted the request.

During the hearing, the police claimed that Eldar Dayan himself, who is currently defined as missing, is also suspected of involvement in the hit-and-run incident and that he fled the scene afterward. According to the police, there is an indication that a hit-and-run did indeed occur, but so far no victim has been located.

Judge Ayelet Jerbi noted that according to the investigation materials, this is an incident that could have ended in minor injuries, and therefore it is possible that the victim has not yet been located or has not yet contacted the authorities.

According to the police, the incident occurred about ten days ago, but the suspects were arrested only yesterday. A secret report was submitted to the file, and several investigative actions have been carried out so far. It was further claimed that there are significant contradictions between the versions of the two friends and the findings collected, including documentation from security cameras at several locations and findings related to the vehicle involved.

In parallel with the hearing, the police updated that yesterday two residents of Dimona in their 20s were arrested on suspicion of obstruction of justice and conspiracy to commit a crime. According to the suspicion, the two were seen with Dayan in the Petah Tikva area on July 18, and during the investigation, it emerged that they provided versions that do not align with the investigation's findings.

It was also reported that the Magistrate's Court in Be'er Sheva extended the detention of one of the suspects until August 2, while a hearing regarding the second suspect is expected to take place later today. The police noted that the investigation is continuing in parallel with efforts to locate Dayan.
