The Coastal District Police have arrested a lawyer from the Krayot area on suspicion of possession and trafficking of dangerous drugs in quantities exceeding personal use, N12 reported on Monday. Following an appeal hearing, the court ruled that the suspect would be released to house arrest under restrictive conditions.

The investigation was launched following proactive operational activity by Coastal District police officers. During a raid on an apartment in the Krayot area, authorities seized several dozen grams of substances suspected to be hard drugs. Following the discovery, the suspect was arrested at his home and transferred to the Zevulun police station for interrogation, after which he was remanded in custody.

Since the lawyer's arrest approximately one week ago, his detention had been extended periodically by the court to facilitate the investigation. Today, the court ruled that the suspect would be released under house arrest. The investigation remains ongoing, and the police spokesperson's office indicated that they intend to file an indictment against the suspect upon its conclusion.
