Approximately eight kilograms of various drugs and about 24,000 shekels in cash were seized in recent days during a widespread enforcement operation throughout Jerusalem. As part of the activity, six suspects were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and possession offenses.

Among the items seized were cannabis, hashish, crystal, and electronic cigarettes containing cannabis. Police noted that this is an unusual quantity of drugs, which was allegedly intended for distribution and sale in the Jerusalem area.

During the operation, police forces acted in several locations across the district:

  • At the Shuafat station, about 363 grams of cannabis, 41 grams of hashish, electronic cigarettes, and 6,050 shekels in cash were seized, and two suspects were arrested.

  • At the Lev HaBira station, about 5.5 kilograms of various dangerous drugs and 15,140 shekels in cash were seized, and two suspects were arrested.

  • In an operation by the Beit Shemesh station, over two kilograms of cannabis and hashish were seized along with 1,700 shekels in cash, and one female suspect was arrested.

  • At the Shalem station, 221 grams of hashish, 4.9 grams of crystal, 10.6 grams of cannabis, and 1,341 shekels in cash were seized.

All six suspects were transferred for questioning. Some have already appeared in court, which extended their detention, while another suspect is awaiting a hearing regarding the police's request to extend his remand.
