The reason for the unusual rain is a climate event called "Super El Niño" that began in the Pacific Ocean and is expected to peak in December - and in the meantime, it is disrupting weather almost everywhere on every continent.
The director of the Meteorological Service, Dr. Amir Givati, said that the coming day will be the peak of the hot weather with 35 degrees in the mountains and 45 degrees in the Jordan Valley. Starting tomorrow, a gradual drop in temperatures is expected, but heavy to extreme heat loads will continue to prevail in most areas. On Saturday, there is a possibility of local rains from the afternoon in the north and center, with an emphasis on the eastern areas of the country - the Golan Heights, the Jordan Valley, and also in the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea area. In some places, the rains could even be strong enough to accumulate several millimeters of rain within a short time.
