120,000 Shekel Lawsuit: "Golstar" Star Sues Major Company

Shaye Feigenboim, coach and star of the reality show "Golstar" for 12 seasons, has filed a lawsuit for 120,000 shekels against Brill Shoe Industries Ltd., the company that markets the fashion brand Lee Cooper. According to the plaintiff, the company used his likeness in an advertising campaign without obtaining his consent.

According to the statement of claim, in April 2025, an advertisement aired on television and social media featuring a character clearly resembling Feigenboim. It is alleged that the puppet was shown wearing the company's clothing, including jeans, shirts, and hats.

The lawsuit argues that this was not an accidental occurrence, but a promotional move intended to boost sales and attract public attention by leveraging Feigenboim's reputation. The filing emphasizes that the puppet is well-known to the public from the television show "Buba Shel Layla" ("Puppet of the Night") and is closely identified with the coach's persona.

"The company benefited from the advertisement by using a character identified with the plaintiff, and therefore cannot disclaim responsibility," argues Feigenboim's lawyer.

Feigenboim initially sent a formal demand to the company, which was rejected. Brill responded that it did not create or publish any advertisement using the plaintiff's likeness. The dispute will now be decided in court.
