Investigation directions in the disappearance of Eldar Dayan: "He is probably on the run"
The police are investigating several leads in the disappearance of the young man. They are examining a suspicion that he was kidnapped for criminal reasons, or the possibility that he was involved in a hit-and-run accident and fled. "The assessment is strengthening that Eldar Dayan is on the run, all options are on the table," a police source told N12.
The investigation into the disappearance of 23-year-old Eldar Dayan continues as police attempt to locate the young man, examining several conflicting lines of inquiry on Tuesday. Authorities are investigating a suspicion of criminal kidnapping, as well as the possibility that Eldar was involved in a hit-and-run accident and subsequently fled.
A police source told N12:
"The assessment is strengthening that Eldar Dayan is on the run, all options are on the table."
As part of the investigation, a shirt potentially belonging to Eldar was located in Petah Tikva, a short distance from where the vehicle he was likely traveling in with friends 12 days ago was found. Shilat Na'im, Eldar's mother, stated: "I am very afraid that someone is holding my son." Police officials maintain they are confident he is alive and possess leads that support this assessment.
Meanwhile, the Magistrate's Court in Be'er Sheva extended the detention of Maxim Bruverman, a friend of the missing man, by 6 days. He is suspected of involvement in the hit-and-run and obstruction of justice. The police had requested a 10-day extension, stating in court: "The suspect's initial version was refuted; we are at the beginning of the investigation."
Eldar Dayan has been missing since he traveled from Dimona to the center of the country about a week and a half ago. Before disappearing, he sent a message to his girlfriend stating: "There is a mess here, I will talk to you when we arrive." Investigation details indicate the group stayed at a hotel in Tel Aviv and later arrived at the Yarkon Park area, where, according to testimonies, a fight broke out with another group.
Shilat Na'im, who arrived from Eilat to follow the search, revealed new details regarding the conduct of the friends who accompanied her son: "One of them disappeared, and the other provided conflicting versions during questioning and has been summoned for a follow-up interrogation." The mother explained that initial statements were refuted by police camera footage: "They claimed they were in the Yarkon Park area, but we discovered they were not there at all." New information suggests Dayan was last seen at a kiosk in Petah Tikva on Friday morning, but he remains unreachable.
