Philadelphia Police Uncover 'House of Horrors' Linked to Serial Killer
Philadelphia police linked five missing women to a "house of horrors" belonging to the late porn producer Raymond "RC" Horst. Investigators recovered over a million digital files containing evidence of murders, uncovering a grim serial killing investigation.
Philadelphia police have linked five missing women to what appears to be a "house of horrors" discovered in the city, where a suspected serial killer allegedly murdered them one by one. The home belonged to the late Raymond "RC" Horst, a convicted methamphetamine manufacturer, pornographic content producer, and self-described sociopath who died last year at 82. Investigators discovered more than a million photos and videos inside the property, including footage allegedly showing Horst strangling one of the victims to death.
The investigation in Philadelphia was launched after police stopped Horst's 44-year-old son, Eugene, during a routine check in downtown Philadelphia in June. A park ranger approached Eugene's BMW parked in a no-parking zone and heard a woman inside say, "You are going to hurt me." Officers seized two firearms, weapons with obliterated serial numbers, and over $8,000 worth of illegal drugs. The woman sitting next to Eugene carried a fake ID bearing the name of Blair Tonsley, a medical assistant who vanished in February 2023 at age 35.
Following the traffic stop, police obtained search warrants for the Horst family home in the Olney neighborhood of North Philadelphia, uncovering a bank card belonging to Tonsley. A friend of Tonsley later testified that the missing woman had previously described Eugene as a sociopath who openly discussed dissolving bodies to flush them down the toilet. Subsequent raids on the Olney residence revealed illegal weapons, a fake FBI badge, and five urns containing cremated human remains, alongside more than 50 hard drives containing over a million images and tens of thousands of videos and documents.
Heartbreaking findings emerged from Horst's massive digital archive, leading investigators to conclude that at least three of the missing women documented in the files are no longer alive. Among them are Gabriela Amerando, who was last seen in 2012 at age 22, and Maribel Presses, who vanished in 2018 at age 27. The fourth woman linked to the house is Amy McHale, Horst's ex-wife, who was last seen at the residence in June 2016 at age 44. Recently, a fifth missing woman was identified in connection with the case: Nicole Posaro, who was 27 when she disappeared in 2018.
Detectives have so far examined only about 30% of the digital materials seized from Horst's archive. A total of 58 individuals have been identified within the files, including four documented in states of unconsciousness or death, though no bodies have been recovered yet.
