Breakthrough: IBM Achieved "Quantum Advantage" with the Help of an Israeli Company
With the help of software and algorithms from the Israeli company Qedma, IBM managed to use its quantum computer to outperform the world's most powerful supercomputer with 700,000 processor cores, and to perform a complex experiment in the field of physics.

IBM reports today (Thursday) on a scientific breakthrough that also holds significant commercial potential: with the help of software and algorithms from the Israeli company Qedma, IBM succeeded in using its quantum computer to outperform the world's most powerful supercomputer, which has 700,000 processor cores, and to perform a complex experiment in the field of physics.
The experiment was conducted by IBM on a quantum chip developed using superconducting technology, containing 72 physical qubits—distinct units that allow for performing different calculations in parallel.
Until now, experiments have been conducted by companies competing with IBM, such as Google or Quantinuum, but these did not succeed in outperforming standard supercomputers due to the "noise" involved in the instability of particles in quantum computing, such as electrons, ions, or photons.
The software of the Israeli company Qedma succeeded in neutralizing this noise during the experiment, thereby providing IBM with a scale of computation not yet seen in scientific experiments, equivalent to 74 logical qubits, meaning processing units free of noise.
