Starting from Saturday night: Channel 14 will broadcast Selichot from the Western Wall every evening

Starting this coming Saturday night, Channel 14 will broadcast the Selichot services from the Western Wall plaza in Jerusalem every evening. The broadcasts will be available on the channel and on all C14 platforms – on the website, in the app, and on YouTube. This way, even those who cannot physically reach the Western Wall plaza will be able to join the moving event and be an integral part of the atmosphere of the days of mercy and forgiveness.

The first Selichot service for the year 5786 will take place this coming Saturday night, August 15, starting at 00:15 at night. During the month of Elul, the Ten Days of Repentance, and the eve of Yom Kippur, 19 central Selichot services are expected to take place at the Western Wall plaza with the participation of tens of thousands of worshipers. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation has completed preparations to accommodate the hundreds of thousands of worshipers expected to visit the holy site throughout the period.

At the central services, sound systems and giant screens will be placed at the edges of the plaza, and the Selichot will be held with the accompaniment of leading cantors. This year, the services will also be dedicated to special prayers for the salvation of the people of Israel, its unity, and for the peace of our forces and the security forces guarding us. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation noted that the traditional Selichot services have become over the years moments that unite worshipers from all parts of the nation, and now they will be accessible to everyone.
