Families Commemorate Fallen Golani Soldiers at Paga Outpost Three Years Later
Families of Golani Brigade soldiers killed at the Paga outpost marked three years since October 7, dedicating a Torah scroll and launching a nationwide commemorative project.
Three years after the death of Shalev Baranes, Dolev Amoyal, and their commander Dekel Suissa in the battle at the Paga outpost, grieving families gathered at the site to commemorate their fallen heroes. On the eve of Simchat Torah, a Torah scroll dedicated to their memory was brought to the outpost during a special ceremony.
The families, alongside the newly established Paga Association, are working to preserve the legacy of the fallen soldiers from the Golani Brigade's 13th Battalion, who heroically defended the post on October 7. The association operates a branded food truck that travels across military bases, memorial events, and community centers nationwide to share their stories with soldiers and civilians alike.
"We are not only commemorating their fall, but the path they walked," said Eva Baranes, Shalev's mother. Aryeh Amit, founder of the Paga Association, added that the initiative ensures the memory of the soldiers continues to inspire the younger generation and communities across the country.
