Orna Banai: "I am collecting my organs that are falling out"
At a family gathering ahead of the decisive stages of "Dancing with the Stars," Orna Banai sat down for an open conversation with her son Amir and his partner, sharing the anxieties that accompanied her in the face of his meteoric rise and the fear of the moment when everything changes: "Suddenly you become a person who explodes."
In a broadcast of "Dancing with the Stars" on Keshet 12, an intimate family meeting was documented where Orna Banai spoke with her son Amir Banai, his partner Noa, and family members. At the meeting, Banai opened her heart regarding the complex emotional struggle that accompanies his journey on the show.
During the conversation in the living room, Orna described the great anxiety that overwhelms her every time she watches her son's performances on the dance floor:
"Lately, I am simply collecting my organs that fall out every time I see them dancing. As soon as the dance ends, a flood of messages begins, from the building committee head to the former kindergarten teacher, who want to say how shocked they are by what happened to the child."
Amir's partner, Noa, joined the conversation and addressed the bond that formed between them during this intense period. According to her, the experiences and intensity they have gone through together in recent months are things that other couples go through over five or six years.
Orna Banai: "I was a little worried about what success would do to you"
Orna continued and shared the concerns that arose following the massive exposure:
"I was a little worried about what success would do to you, because suddenly you become a person who explodes," Banai admitted to her son, but quickly moved to strengthen him: "I remembered that you have a healthy foundation, you are so grounded and know what is important. Just keep doing what you love and everything you do - you will do well."
The actress's words come in continuation of the public and consistent support she has given Amir throughout the season. In one of the previous episodes, she addressed her presence in the studio and even declared with a smile that Amir is the most talented in the Banai family. On that occasion, she listed his many skills, from music and sports to the capital market, and concluded with humor: "I am counting on you, honey, we don't have much money."
The struggle on the dance floor also integrates with the personal life story of Amir, who grew up without the presence of his biological father, media figure Aaron Barnea. Recently, in a podcast interview, Banai shared that the secret affair and the breakup broke her heart after the father chose not to take part in his son's life and moved to Washington.
