Ori and Anna Banai were recently crowned the grand winners of the reality show "Power Couple" on Reshet 13 after a tense and emotional finale. Throughout the season, the couple demonstrated a stable relationship, true friendship, and an impressive ability to cope with challenging tasks, securing first place.
The Grand Prize and Taxes
Their victory earned them the coveted title and a cash prize of 399,000 shekels, accumulated throughout the game. On Sunday morning, the couple arrived at the Reshet 13 offices to collect their massive earnings. However, high cash prizes in reality shows are subject to Israeli tax laws, which include a progressive tax rate reaching up to 38 percent for such amounts.
"Winning the show was an incredible journey, and while taxes are part of the reality, we are thrilled with our experience and the outcome," sources close to the couple shared.
After factoring in tax brackets and exemptions, Ori and Anna are expected to pay between 135,000 and 140,000 shekels in taxes. This leaves them with a net amount of approximately 260,000 shekels, a very respectable reward for their intense television journey.
A Celebrated Cultural Family
Ori Banai, a respected actor and musician belonging to one of Israel's most prominent cultural families, and his partner Anna displayed maturity and mutual respect. Their victory on "Power Couple" served as a testament to the strength of their bond.
