Kylie Perez, a 31-year-old resident of Tampa, Florida, known to her OnlyFans subscribers as Natalie Monroe, managed to turn her digital content into a multi-million-dollar financial empire within a few years. Between 2019 and 2023, she amassed a staggering sum of over $5.4 million.
However, this dazzling success came to a sudden halt when United States authorities discovered that a significant portion of the taxes owed on her earnings had never reached the state treasury. According to federal court documents, Perez earned over $1.6 million in 2020, with her revenue peaking at approximately $2.13 million in 2021.
Federal Investigation and Indictment
Although her earnings declined in subsequent years—dropping to about $1.09 million in 2022 and $602,000 in 2023—federal prosecutors established that Perez filed a false tax return in 2019 and evaded tax payments totaling at least $1.5 million between 2020 and 2023.
The investigation was handled by the IRS Criminal Investigation division, leading to a five-count federal indictment. In May, Perez pleaded guilty, and in August, a federal court sentenced her to 12 months in prison, followed by one year of supervised release.
Choosing personal luxuries over tax compliance carries severe legal consequences, emphasizing that digital creators are not exempt from federal tax laws.
Ron Lacker, the special agent in charge of the IRS Criminal Investigation field office in Florida, stressed after the sentencing that tax evasion carries heavy penalties. Ultimately, Perez was imprisoned not for the nature of her content, but strictly for her attempts to evade her civic and financial obligations to the state.
