Ondas Acquires Israeli GATE Technologies in Deal Valued at Up to $390 Million
American defense-tech firm Ondas has acquired Israeli company GATE Technologies and European partner Bron Technologies in a deal valued at up to $390 million, expanding its precision-strike and electronic fuze capabilities.
American defense-tech company Ondas continues to expand its military sector operations through strategic acquisitions. The firm announced the purchase of Israeli company GATE Technologies, which specializes in the development, manufacturing, and licensing of electronic fuze systems, alongside its European manufacturing and distribution partner Bron Technologies.
The acquisition value stands at $205 million, with an additional contingent payout of up to $185 million tied to performance targets through the end of 2028. Under these terms, the total transaction value could reach $390 million.
Expanding Precision Strike Capabilities
The deal broadens Ondas's footprint in precision-strike technologies, incorporating critical fuze components utilized in weapon systems deployed across unmanned platforms. According to the company, this move complements its existing portfolio in autonomous strike systems, propulsion, mission systems, communications, engineering, manufacturing, and software.
GATE develops electronic fuze systems and electronic safe and arm devices (ESAD). The company's products are integrated into dozens of global weapon systems, including missiles, rockets, unmanned aerial vehicles, and loitering munitions. These fuzes maintain munitions in a safe state during storage, transport, and launch, enabling activation only after preset conditions are met.
"The demand for precision and autonomous strike systems is surging, accompanied by a rapid expansion in the use of electronic safe and arm devices," said Eric Brock, Chairman and CEO of Ondas. He added that the company plans to heavily invest in production capacity, engineering, and the international growth of GATE.
Global Production and Leadership
The majority of GATE’s current revenues originate outside of Israel. Meanwhile, Bron Technologies' Polish operations provide an established European manufacturing base, and Ondas has already initiated the setup of engineering, integration, certification, and manufacturing capabilities in the United States. US-manufactured products are projected to hit the market in the first half of 2027.
Oshri Lugasi, Co-CEO of Ondas Autonomous Systems, noted that electronic fuze systems are core elements of precision weapon systems. He confirmed that post-acquisition plans include reinforcing support for existing clients and expanding operations both in Israel and globally.
This transaction follows a series of military-focused acquisitions by Ondas, encompassing both Israeli and British firms. Over the past year, the company has scaled its footprint across drone tech, electronic defense systems, air defense, robotics, and counter-drone solutions, supported by a booming global loitering munitions market projected to grow from $5.4 billion in 2025 to $13.3 billion by 2030.
