Attorney Moriah Kahlani, representing Dvir Sela, stated in response: "Between Dvir and the late Reut, there was a personal relationship that lasted for several months. On the night of the incident, Reut arrived at his home, and the two consumed together the drug that Dvir had ordered. The moment he noticed she was unresponsive, he attempted to perform resuscitation efforts on her, immediately called for medical assistance, and informed the treating team that both of them had used the drug, in order to enable the provision of appropriate treatment and to try to save her life. Dvir admitted to ordering the drug and supplying it, and accepts full responsibility for the actions to which he confessed. Alongside the acceptance of responsibility, the legal situation must be presented with the required precision: Dvir was not charged and was not convicted of a homicide offense or causing death, and the verdict did not determine that he caused the death of the late Reut or that criminal liability for this is imposed upon him."
