Maccabi Haifa goalkeeper Omri Glazer was released from the team's evening training session after being involved in a minor car accident on his way to the training complex, according to reports.

Glazer was sent for preventive examinations, as announced by the club, and was not injured in the accident. However, as a precaution and following the decision of the medical staff, it was determined that the goalkeeper would undergo examinations and would not take part in training.

This event continues a streak of bad luck for the Israeli goalkeeper, who returned to Maccabi Haifa only last season after a stint at Red Star Belgrade.

This comes following a difficult evening for the team in the Toto Cup, where it suffered a second loss in two games — 3:0 against Kiryat Shmona, with all goals scored in the first half.

In that same match, a frightening moment occurred in the 23rd minute, when Glazer was injured and substituted. Despite fears of a severe scenario, the goalkeeper shared his feelings:

"At that moment, I feared the worst for a football player. The impact was directly on my knee. It is very painful and serious, but the initial examination findings were good. We will do an MRI and hope that everything will be fine."
