Vizhnitz Rebbe Joins as Olam HaTorah Fund Surpasses 30 Million Shekels
The Olam HaTorah Fund's fundraising campaign surpassed 30 million shekels as the Vizhnitz Rebbe joined, driven by ultra-Orthodox seminary students amid government budget freezes.
Hours before the conclusion of the Olam HaTorah Fund's "Lemaan Toratcha" campaign, fundraising efforts crossed the 30 million shekel mark. Ahead of the campaign's close, the Rebbe of Vizhnitz personally contributed to the fund.
The Rebbe's participation follows a visit by Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager, Av Beis Din of Vizhnitz and the Rebbe's son, to the campaign headquarters. During his visit, he conveyed his father's blessing to activists and donors, stating how fortunate they are to act on behalf of the Torah world.
The campaign reached its final stretch after thousands of ultra-Orthodox seminary students mobilized in recent days, setting up call centers and reaching out to family and acquaintances to raise funds for yeshiva students and kollel avreichim.
As reported earlier this week, within less than three hours of launching the activity, the female students successfully raised over ten million shekels. Even prior to the official opening, the amount raised through them stood at approximately five million shekels.
Each participating student was assigned a personal target of 8,400 shekels—defined as the annual cost of maintaining a yeshiva student or avreich. The funds were raised through appeals to their immediate social circles.
The "Lemaan Toratcha" campaign was launched against the backdrop of halted government budgets and sanctions stemming from the conscription law crisis and the legal status of tens of thousands of Torah scholars. The Olam HaTorah Fund aims to bridge financial gaps in yeshiva and kollel budgets through donations to ensure their continued operation.
