Ofira Asayag on extreme proposal: "They told me, get in a jacuzzi with him"
A planned meeting between TV presenter Ofira Asayag and Avihu Pinhasov led the production team to suggest unusual interview formats, but Asayag drew a clear red line and set her own condition.
A meeting between Ofira Asayag and Avihu Pinhasov is an event that generates buzz even before it begins. Ahead of a joint interview, the show's production team suggested unusual formats to Asayag to handle Pinhasov's uncontrollable energy. However, the TV and radio presenter had completely different plans and had no intention of agreeing to extreme ideas.
In a broadcast on 103FM radio, Asayag shared details of what happened behind the scenes:
"Avihu Pinhasov, wow, he has energy that I cannot explain. They suggested I interview him in an unconventional way. They told me, 'Get into a jacuzzi with him in the middle of Dizengoff Street and interview him.' Screams! I am not getting into a jacuzzi with him and I am not coming to Dizengoff."
When the production team realized that a jacuzzi in the middle of a busy street in Tel Aviv was a red line for her, they tried for a different kind of extreme, but met with an even more determined refusal:
"They told me, 'You know what? Go skydiving with him.' I said, 'Excuse me?! Me skydiving? I won't make it to the ground. I don't get on any ride at an amusement park, not in Paris and not in Orlando with my children, so I'm going to go skydiving? And also jump... with Avihu Pinhasov? Absolutely not.'"
Ultimately, after a series of ideas, Asayag clarified exactly where the line is and set a clear condition that she says is crazy enough in itself: "They told me, 'Think of something crazy.' I said: 'Fine, bring him to my studio, that's crazy enough.'"
