Ofer Winter Reveals Herzi Halevi Blocked His Military Secretary Appointment
Ofer Winter's Amcha Yisrael party has released a video revealing that former IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi blocked his appointment as military secretary days before October 7.
Ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections, the newly formed political party led by Ofer Winter has released a video revealing details of a dramatic conversation that took place three years ago.
Ofer Winter, chairman of the Amcha Yisrael party, disclosed in a new video that former IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi informed him days before the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack that he was refusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to appoint Winter as his military secretary.
According to Winter, Halevi told him that the Prime Minister had requested him for the position, but that Halevi considered him unsuited for the General Staff's strategic thinking.
Meanwhile, Likud figures have criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu for targeting Winter's party, warning that alienating right-wing voters could jeopardize the entire right-wing bloc.
