The story of twin sisters Noy and Hadar Karako has always seemed bound by an invisible, synchronized clock. Famous since childhood, they built a joint career, received marriage proposals on the same day, tied the knot two months apart, and became pregnant almost simultaneously twice, giving birth just two weeks apart on both occasions. Therefore, when Hadar recently announced she was expecting her third child, the media immediately assumed their paths were aligned once again. However, behind the scenes, a far more complex reality was unfolding.

Noy and Hadar had indeed conceived for a third time in parallel. While Hadar's pregnancy progressed smoothly, Noy endured a grueling period of heavy bleeding, endless medical examinations, and profound uncertainty that ultimately ended in a miscarriage. "I can honestly say this is the hardest period I've ever been through, physically and mentally," Noy shares in their first joint interview addressing these past few months. "Today, I look back and realize I am much stronger than I thought, but the journey was immensely challenging."

Navigating Loss and Asynchrony

Noy's loss not only disrupted their shared family plans but also plunged them into unfamiliar territory. For twins accustomed to sharing every major milestone, a gap emerged that could no longer be bridged by perfect timing. "You see our mother, not knowing how to divide herself between us," Hadar explains, describing the emotional weight on their family. "She doesn't know whether to rejoice or mourn. Her eyes hold both joy and sorrow."

For Hadar, the surprise pregnancy began on a mundane Friday while shopping for vegetables. Having recently stopped breastfeeding her youngest son, she sensed subtle shifts in her body. A test confirmed she was pregnant again. Noy, naturally, was the first to know. Soon after, Noy experienced unexpected medical symptoms and discovered, to her absolute shock, that she was also pregnant.

I could have chosen to undergo a dilation procedure right at the beginning, but I decided to wait because I truly believed in miracles.

The Long Medical Ordeal

What followed was a harrowing month of blood tests, contradictory medical opinions, and agonizing waiting. While some doctors advised immediate termination, others urged patience to let nature take its course. For a brief period, blood tests showed encouraging progress, briefly restoring hope. Ultimately, however, scans revealed that development was too slow and incompatible with the gestational age.

Around the tenth week, Noy underwent a medical and surgical termination. Keeping the ordeal private until it concluded, Noy later decided to speak openly to support other women facing similar heartbreak. "A lot of women go through this, and it needs to be talked about," she emphasizes.

Despite the emotional turmoil, Hadar remained a pillar of support, accompanying her sister to appointments while quietly grappling with survivor's guilt. Yet, the public perception remained unchanged. When Hadar announced her pregnancy on their joint Instagram account boasting over 300,000 followers, followers immediately assumed Noy was pregnant too. The sisters emphasize that while their bond remains unbreakable, the painful chapter taught them the profound necessity of individuality, resilience, and personal space.
