New Appointment at the Bank of Israel: Governor Announces Selection of Department Director
Following a rigorous search process, Professor Amir Yaron has appointed Limor Schwartz, an expert with 25 years of experience in data and artificial intelligence, as the new Director of the Information and Statistics Department at the Bank of Israel.

The Governor of the Bank of Israel, Professor Amir Yaron, has announced the appointment of Limor Schwartz as the Director of the Information and Statistics Department. Schwartz, who brings nearly a quarter-century of experience in data and artificial intelligence, will assume her role in October. The decision follows a search process and a series of interviews conducted by a committee led by Deputy Governor Andrew Abir.
Schwartz possesses a distinguished 25-year career in data, analytics, and AI. In her most recent role, she led the data and artificial intelligence division at the First International Bank (Bank Beinleumi), and previously managed data and advanced analytics divisions at Menora Mivtachim and AIG. She has accumulated extensive expertise in leading data strategies, establishing data systems, developing statistical models, and implementing advanced AI technologies within major financial institutions.
Schwartz holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with honors, specializing in finance, from the College of Management Academic Studies. She resides in Shoham, is married, and is a mother of three.
